As part of Saturday’s Jablonecká Perle festival, you can support the Perle pro Maruška project, organized by the Preciosa Foundation. By purchasing a small item, you will contribute to a young mother, Maria, who is battling a serious illness.
“Together with the organizers of Jablonecka Pearl, we at the Preciosa Foundation decided to support Maruška from Jablonec. We will sell our charity items and the proceeds will be donated to his treatment.” he says Lenka Šimková from the Preciosa Foundation. The collection will start simultaneously with the festival on Saturday, August 26 at 10 am in Horní náměstí, at the Preciosa Ornela stand.
Maria K. was diagnosed with colon cancer three years ago. Despite surgery and subsequent treatment, the cancer continued to spread, so the 40-year-old mother of two young children now faced an unfavorable prognosis. “However, Maruška refused to give up and looked for ways to prolong his life. Public fundraising will allow him to continue supportive therapy that is not covered by insurance.” explained Šimková.
Marie runs the blog Tančím o život, where she shares her feelings, experiences and hopes on this challenging journey. Her strength and determination are an inspiration to everyone. “I wrote about how to stay alive even with a terminal diagnosis. I wrote about how not to give up and believe,” said Marie K.
