News Residents of Pleszew take part in World Hearing Day celebrations in Warsaw.
World Hearing Day celebrations take place in the Senate on Tuesday, March 7. The event was organized by Senator Jan Filip Libicki, chairman of the Committee on Family, Seniors and Social Policy, together with the Polish Association of Hearing Prosthetics.
Pleszewians were present at the meeting.
– As part of the meeting, a preventive hearing test was carried out for senators, deputies and officials, which I had time to do. Attendance is good – our tests are queued around the clock – says Tatiana Janos, member of the Polish Association of Hearing Prosthetics, owner of the company Pleszew AUDIO-COM.
What is the role of hearing and how important is it, said Iwona Król, president of the Polish Association of Hearing Prosthetics, in her speech.
“Today, worldwide, one in five people lives with some degree of hearing loss, which means that 1.5 billion people are struggling with this problem,” said the president of the association.
During the meeting, hearing protection, professional hearing care professions, early diagnosis, and how to conduct hearing training were also discussed.
– The Senate building is very impressive and I am glad that we can publicize the problem of hearing loss and our profession in this way and in such a place. I hope that next year the celebration will be held in a professional and interesting way, said Tatiana Janos
