Queen Sonja 85 years old – VG

On Monday the 4th of July, Queen Sonja turned 85 years old. The royal family celebrated the day privately.

For several years, Queen Sonja has been celebrating her birthday in private. He also did this on Monday, when he was 85 years old, the Royal House told NTB.

The Queen is still active and has plenty of iron in the fire, 54 years after she became part of the Norwegian royal family.

Queen Sonja, born Haraldsen, married Crown Prince Harald on 29 August 1968. 22 years later she became queen, when King Olav died in 1991. Queen Sonja went on to become Norway’s first queen in 52 years.

Sonja had a great opportunity to shape her role as queen, where nature and culture have always been recurring elements in her life.

Cable cutter with “wow” feeling

Most recently, he was responsible for the opening of two monumental museums, the Munch Museum and the National Museum. He said the following during the opening of the latter:

– The “wow” feeling only grew – to this day – and is still here! he said of the National Museum, where six years ago he laid the foundation stone for the building with Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

Much of the Queen’s private art collection is currently on display in the Palace’s old buildings, where more than 100 works are exhibited. He describes art as “an indispensable part of life”, and it’s something he’s been collecting since he was a teenager.

Also famous is the photo of the queen in the mountains with the wind in her hair. Several hiking trails and nature routes in Norway are named after the queen.

She has given birth to two children – Princess Märtha Louise and Crown Prince Haakon.

On the occasion of Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th birthday, she gave a speech to the future king. Then he came up with the following suggestions:
