After a long time, Strahov’s Bastlírs are on their way out – this time to the Hackaday conference in Berlin. Therefore, they will be more than happy to show you photos, talk about the presentations they have seen, and report on MotionLab the hacker space Berlin. They will also show you a “Badge” – a tag given to all event attendees, which contains a 4-bit virtual processor. You won’t believe how much fun you’ll have with an instruction set that has a measly 12 bit instruction length. But don’t worry – the entire Virtual Experience is definitely not just about the experience from a trip to Berlin. As always, you – the participants – will be at the heart of the discussion! However, if anyone is quiet, MacGyver Craftsmen has quite a bit of news from the world of technology ready. As usual, new processors appear – either those running from a 0.8 V battery or the very cheap ARMs starting at 40 cents (which is no exception from China). Then a new ST-LINK with very practical functions for embedded programmers. And the Raspberry Pi Pico W will finally have usable Bluetooth. Of course, as usual, the Bastlír family also had bags full of trinkets and smiling messages. For example, you will learn how to view some integrated circuits non-invasively, what’s new in Pruša i3 MK4, how to store SMD components in a practical way, how to build a spaceship in Brno, or about SBUDNIC’s student space projects. Whether you are interested in one of the topics offered, want to show off some of your craft or have also been to the Berlin conference, come on! The next Virtual Craft Workshop will be under project control MacGyver student club Silicon Hill will be held on Wednesday, April 5 from 8:00 p.m. until at least 10:00 p.m. (but usually ends quite late). The link to the conference will appear before the event itself on create wikis.
