Series starts for women with Larvik against Vipers

After playing for Hungarian Györ and Viper, as well as having son number three, Heidi Løke is ready to try again with the Larvik jersey. Along with Amanda Kurtovic, who is back after five years abroad, the two veterans and the young Larvik team will battle it out to climb to the top of the table. That’s the goal.

– I have big ambitions for myself and the team. We are a young team with very young players, so we have to rebuild Larvik. It will be an enjoyable process, believe the veteran who also has his niece, Astrid Lke, on the team.

Løke is grateful that Viper let him leave the club and is excited to meet his old club friends again in the series opener.

“It will be difficult, Viper are the best team in the world, but I’m looking forward to this game,” he said.

Both veterans agree that Larvik should move up the table, preferably in the top six.

– It’s a tough league, and the levels behind Viper, Storhamar and Sola are even. Behind all three, it will be a race, believes Amanda Kurtovic and crosses her fingers that they avoided injury in a thin squad. He is very satisfied with the effort and willingness to work of his young colleagues.

Viper wants to win it all – again!

Last season’s three-time champion has a number of substitutes in the team. Nora Mørk goes to Denmark, while Jamina Roberts from Sweden and Anna Vyakhireva from Russia are new players to the squad. Katrine Lunde thought it was interesting.

– It’s always a bit challenging at the start to play everyone on the team but we got used to it, thought Katrine and thought it was really interesting. Communication in English, and works well both on and off the pitch.

This season too, Storhamar will be the biggest challenger for the southern team.

– Our goal is to be the best, we want to achieve that this season too, and then we have to keep Storhamar away first. However, they will have a new challenge with matches in the Champions League, concluded Katrine.

The match between Larvik and Viper will be broadcast on TV 2 Sport 2/Play on Thursday 1 September at 19.15.
