Substitute Hegerberg with a hat-trick as the women’s national team ended WC qualifiers with a 5-0 win

In the last World Cup qualifiers, he contributed with three goals and one assist and showed that Norway has some dangerous strikers.

Norway also got goals from substitute Maren Mjelde and debutant Sara Hørte, while Guro Reiten was directly involved in four goals.

As expected, it was a one-goal match at Ullevaal, and Hege Riise’s team were able to practice attacking play for 90 minutes. Reiten wreaked havoc with opponents, creating chance after chance and finishing second or third last on four goals. After switching sides, he got a quick hit at the post at the very top of the cross, and he finished as captain after Maren Mjelde was substituted.

On a day that almost played only attacking, goalkeeper Aurora Mikalsen also had to show off in front of the Ullevaal crowd. In the 54th minute, he saved a penalty from visiting captain Megi Doci, who had fired the ball into debutant Mathilde Harviken and it bounced off his arm. Sentence is a very severe decision by a good judge.

During the break, Isabell Herlovsen was honored as Norway’s all-time top scorer. Her 67 goals put her ahead of any other woman or man. Appropriately, he should see Norway score a goalscoring record.

Already with the first goal, the Norwegian women’s national team has beaten their old record of 42 goals in the same qualification. It was set in the play-off hunt for the 2011 World Cup, also for ten games. The new one ended with 47 goals.

Thank you

Haug started on top as a result of Hegerberg’s sustained blow in Belgium on Friday. He confirmed his belief by scoring the first two goals in the 12th and 15th minutes. In between goals, he also forced the goalkeeper to make good saves at the post, allowing him to score a hat-trick at lightning speed.

Norway took the lead with the help of a good referee. Anna Jøsendal was fouled just outside the 16-yard area, but Rasa Grigone felt that Norway had the advantage and let play go. Reiten circled the opponent, reached the dead line and headed in the far post. There Haug soared in the air and nodded in the corner.

After Haug hesitated a bit with his finish when he found a pass from Tuva Hansen, and saw the goalkeeper saved, the 2-0 goal came after a corner. A serve from Reiten was headed at the post by Ingrid Syrstad Engen, but Haug kicked the rebound into the net.

Haug provided the assist as team captain Maren Mjelde made it 3-0 after the break. Again it started with Reiten’s dead ball foot. The free kick hits Haug’s head, which sends the ball into the net. There, Mjelde shot at the post and cheered for his 20th goal for the national team.

Complete

Haug missed a chance to complete his hat-trick in the 32nd minute when he couldn’t find Frida Maanum’s powerful and fine cross, and saw the ball disappear between them. Instead, he got his third when debutant Marit Bratberg Lund crossed from the left in the 66th minute and he found the net without pressure.

Minutes later, Sara Hørte also scored, when she headed in a cross from Reiten.

Hege Riise made three changes to the team that started against Belgium on Friday, including a new left side consisting of Bratberg Lund and Anna Jøsendal. During the match, Mathilde Harviken and Hørte also made their debuts, as numbers three and four in the collection.

After the game, the players can wear shirts that say they are going to the World Cup and this time celebrate with their own fans. The team completed the qualifiers in style, but Norway will need to train against far better opponents in the 317 days remaining before the WC starts.
