On Friday morning, Taylor Swift, one of the world’s biggest artists, released a new album.
This release was surprising because the release turned out to be a double album with a total of 31 songs.
– I’ve written so many torture poems over the last two years and I want to share them all with you, wrote Taylor Swift in X referring to the album title.
– I hope it will break all the records that are possible to break, says VG Tor music reviewer Martin Bøe.
Record by note
Swift has broken a number of records.
His previous two albums “Midnights” and “1989” became Spotify’s most streamed albums in a single day in the platform’s history, according to Forbes.
Before its launch, the new album was one of the most previously saved albums of all time on the same app.
– He has understood the essence of doing pop music, says Bøe.
– Her texts are personal, so for many people she feels like a friend telling them her own story.
The wait is over
One of those anxiously waiting is Daniela Ricaurte (34). He and his son Nicholas (10) celebrated the release of the record with a huge breakfast in honor of the artist.
– It’s great to be a Taylor Swift fan, because she posts a lot of things you should know about, Ricaurte said.
Swift is known for hiding clues, also known as “Easter eggs”, in song lyrics, music videos and Instagram posts.
There may be hidden messages about the new album’s release date, who the song is about, or references to previous releases.
Ricaurte has poured his love into the pop icon’s lyrics.
– He is very good at writing songs. I love everything from the lyrics to the themes he sings about. He sings about a lot of different things, he said Ricaurte.
Leaked online
During the Grammy Awards in February, Taylor Swift shared the news that she would be releasing a new album.
The album “The Tortured Poets Department” is the 11th album from the American superstar.
Ahead of the album’s release, there was a stir among fans when a Google Drive link containing 17 songs allegedly belonging to Swift circulated online, according to CNN.
Swift’s most loyal followers refrained from listening to the leaked files, out of respect for Swift, according to the channel.
– Takes his fans seriously
– If we could define religion, and I mean all the religions of the world, and could define it as culture, then I would definitely say so fast was once one of the largest religions in the world.
This was stated by Pia Skevik, who is a presenter and music producer at NRK. There are two things in particular that Skevik says have given Swift so many fans.
– He takes his fans very seriously. For the last eight or nine years, he communicated directly with fans and almost never through the media at all, Skevik said and continued:
– His skills are very good. Pop music that is easy to digest, delicious and fun. And then he has lyrics about the great feelings of ordinary people. So it’s easy to recognize yourself.
Tor Martin Bøe was impressed with the 34 year old’s production capacity.
– He released this album along with the biggest tour the world has seen in recent years. The amount of music that comes out of that body is impressive, whatever one thinks of the quality of the songs.
More concerts to come
Now Ricaurte and his son are looking forward to a total of three concerts in Stockholm, Zurich and London.
Previously, the family would make many “friendship bracelets” which became popular among fans.
The bracelet has become an obvious symbol during Swift’s “Eras tour,” which consists of 152 shows.
The idea for making the bracelet is said to have come from Swift’s song “You’re on Your Own, Kid” from the album “Midnights”, according to Guard.
There Swift sings “so make a friendship bracelet, take the time to taste it”.
