First 98″ and now 115″… where will this end?

-Please, Connten Sie zur Seite treten? Can you step aside? Lots of people stopped when we were about to take pictures of a solid 115″ TV at the IFA show, but TCL’s Sebastian Skarp took it all in with a smile. It’s easy to get absorbed in these swearing shots. (Photo : Audun Hage )
TCL has had great success with its 98″ TV screens, but now that the exhibition is back, there is of course a need to complement everything with something new. And this Chinese manufacturer doesn’t settle for rounding up to 100 inches, but still likes to go for an attractive 115″!
“- With tireless dedication and continuous innovation, we are excited to return to IFA with our latest display technology, facilitating a more sustainable and connected community,” said Jun Zhao, CEO of TCL CSOT in a statement. pers conference.
Speaking of sustainability, it might pay to have at least two men around when this colossus gets carried around the house. Watch the video from the IFA exhibition below:
Mini LED TV 115″ QD
Reportedly this is the world’s first 115″ Mini LED TV. This is known as 115X11G in China, but would probably be called 115X955 with respect to Europe and the Nordics. TCL has confirmed the 85″ and 98″ models in the X955 series, which have somewhat complicated specs.
This new flagship model uses an LCD-based picture panel with Quantum Dot Pro color filter, 4K resolution, and MiniLED backlighting with local dimming. The 115-inch display should be capable of producing 5,000 nits of brightness and have more than 20,000 dimming zones.
Its colossal display also offers a wide spectrum of colors in cinema quality (up to 99% of the DCI color space). The LCD panel uses HVA technology which ensures wider viewing angles, which together with Mini LED backlighting achieves a contrast ratio of 7000:1.
According to TCL, the screen is not only ideal for home cinema, but also a top choice for gamers. This TV supports refresh rates up to 144Hz, which provides an uninterrupted gaming experience in fast-paced games such as shooters, action, and racing.
Going from 98″ to 115″ was no joke at all: for the screen to snap together, stand up straight, and stay level, it needed a much sturdier construction. This of course means that the TV gets a lot heavier to hold – in this case about 93 pounds.
Even so, it seems that TCL is serious about bringing this 2.5 x 1.4 meter (without box!) screen to people’s homes, if not to thousands of homes, at least to some of the enthusiasts out there.
There are also smaller options
Luckily, a TV doesn’t have to be big to produce good picture quality. TCL is showing displays ranging from 98″ to 50 inches in the C805 series with MiniLED technology at the IFA show. Sebastian Skarp, Retail Marketing Manager at TCL, has great confidence in this series, which will be sold under the MQLED80 name at Elkjøp in the Nordics.
