The leader of the local Labor Party in Western Norway has resigned from all of his posts.

The defender of the accused Ap politician told VG:

– My client met the victim on a dating site with an age limit of 18. Therefore, he assumed that the victim was above the legal age for sexual intercourse. After several punches, he learned that his victim was unfortunately under the legal age for sexual intercourse, and then quickly ended the relationship.

– He admitted that he had miscalculated the victim’s age and realized how stringent the precautionary obligations required by the criminal court were. He has been questioned by the police and put all his cards on the table and is determined to accept his punishment. He takes full responsibility for the situation that occurred and right now his main concern is to save the victim from further burdens.

– Very sorry

The defense attorney said he had resigned from all of his positions in the Labor Party and quit his job immediately.

– He is very sorry for everyone he has let down.

The victim’s counselor said:

– I can confirm that it is a matter of sexual relations with minors, he told VG.

The accused politician Ap has played a central role as politicians in the municipality, and was among those rounded up in elections this fall. That is, he is among the top candidates appointed by the party to gain additional votes for every vote they get.

Withdrawn

The mayor of the concerned municipality wrote via SMS to VG:

– He told me over the weekend that he was being investigated by the police. After consulting with me, he has the option of resigning from all of his positions. He has also resigned from the party.

The law states that a list of proposed elections must be submitted and approved by the summer, after which there is no possibility of changing it.

When asked how Ap handled the fact that the man was running on their behalf, the mayor replied:

– There’s nothing we can do if he’s on our list, but he no longer represents the Labor Party.

The police prosecutor in this case informed VG that the charges filed carry a sentence of up to 6 years, but at this time he did not wish to comment further on the case.
