On Thursday, Seym passed a resolution calling on the German government to assume political, historical, legal and financial responsibility for all the consequences caused by the outbreak of World War II. 437 deputies took part in the vote.
The resolution was supported by 222 members of the PiS club, 118 members of the knockout club, 39 members of the Left, 20 members of the Polish-PSL Coalition, 7 members of the Confederation, 5 members of the Treaty, 3 members of Kukiz ’15, a member of the Polish Affairs group – Andrzej Sośnierz, and three independent members: Paweł Szramka, ukasz Mejza and Zbigniew Ajchler.
Four MPs from the knockout club opposed the resolution: Małgorzata Tracz, Urszula Zielińska and Tomasz Aniśko (linked to the Greens) and MP Klaudia Jachira.
15 MPs abstained: 7 from Poland 2050 (Hanna Gill-Piątek, Joanna Mucha, Tomasz Zimoch, Michał Gramatyka, Mirosław Suchoń, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, Paweł Zalewski), 3 from the PPS (Robert Kwiatkowski, Andrzej Senyszyn ), one representative from KO (Krzysztof Mieszkowski) and four members of the Left: Maciej Gdula, Maciej Kopiec, Anita Sowińska and Katarzyna Kotula. 23 deputies did not take part in the vote.

Borys Budka in an interview with Polsat News said that PO managed to convince PiS to demand reparations from Russia right now. During the interview, the politician also revealed that he had noticed Jarosław Kaczyński’s reaction to the vote. According to Budka’s account, it was quite a surprise for the United Right leader. – And are they all supportive? – asked Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.
The opposition politician also explained how he managed to understand the PiS president’s words without being in his environment. It turns out that Budka can read a lot from his mouth thanks to 20 years of work experience as an academic lecturer.

War reparations for Poland. PiS project selected
Draft resolution about compensation the war from Germany was reported by the PiS, KO and PSL clubs. During committee meetings, projects prepared by representatives of the ruling party are selected as frontrunners.
In the course of parliamentary work, a number of amendments were proposed. The Theophile Władysław Amendment adopted in the vote Bartoszewski (PSL-KP) replaced the word “repair” with the word “compensation” in the resolution.
While working on the commission, a provision was added to the draft stating that Poland would not receive appropriate financial compensation and war reparations for losses incurred during World War II as a result of the aggression of the Soviet Union.
