Haaland and City struggled for a long time, but then the fiery Norwegian came to the rescue.

Haaland received a fine ball from Cancelo, and almost karate kicked the ball into the net. That left the TV 2 commentator gaping.

– This is a work of art from an ending, exclaims expert commentator Petter Myhre.

– The score was absolutely incredible. “You have to have the physical capacity to do it, and then you have to feel it in a split second,” said Morten Langli in the studio after the game.

Haaland himself admitted that it was a special match.

– It was a special match for me. I have many good friends here. But I have to be focused and ready for the things I have to do. It was emotional, but a good match, the Norwegian said in an interview aired on TV 2.

He was then asked about the incredible journey from “little” Bryne to wreaking havoc in the Premier League.

– It’s pretty good. I live in a dream and I am happy. There will be more, Haaland said.

– I know it

Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham was voted the best player on the pitch, but praised his former team-mate. Though he might be a bit annoyed that Haaland is no longer playing with he.

– Nice to see it, as usual. In the absence of him scoring goals, football is like that. It’s a bit unfair, Bellingham told TV 2.

– I know he’s the one who scored the winning goal. Not many people know how to stop it. We did really well for 88 minutes, then he did what he did. Unfortunately for us, Bellingham said in German kicker.

Dortmund goalkeeper Alexander Meyer should see two goals past him against City. He believes it was a bit of luck that John Stones’ goal went in – but Haaland scores:

The last goal was absolutely incredible. “It was Erling Haaland’s goal,” Meyer told NRK.

Haaland chose to show respect to the club he played for before he left for City, and did not celebrate after scoring a goal. It was his 26th goal in the Champions League, and his 13th overall this season. They also allow themselves to be impressed by the so-called “ball islands.”

– Spectacular and acrobatic goals from Haaland against his former club. He is a goal machine, writes Gary Lineker Twitter.

– He is the best striker in the world right now, and he can be like that for the next ten years, said Jesper Mathisen.

Troubled start

But even though City won once again, it was a troubled start for the young blues.

For the first half there is very little to write home about. City didn’t create any big chances, and thus Haaland was also a bit involved.

On the other hand, chances for the yellow and black are also few from Dortmund, which may be enough to defend themselves from City’s attack.

And after the break, Dortmund gave a small surprise. Because it was Germany who started the best round, and after a period of pressure, they got the prize. After a precise cross from super-veteran Marco Reus, team-mate Jude Bellingham, 14 years his junior, scored to make it 1-0 for Dortmund.

– Will remember it as long as we live

After the score, the home team woke up, and Haaland almost scored the equalizer. However, the Norwegian got a grip that was a bit too lopsided, and the ball went into the goal wall instead.

Minutes later there was a promising cross at Haaland but former team-mate Mats Hummels was alert and managed to keep the ball before it reached the Norwegian striker.

But then there will be an explosion from the City. John Stones, who had previously had a tough day at work, tapped in from distance to make it 1-1.

A few minutes later it was time for a Norwegian. Haaland received a fine ball from João Cancelo, and in acrobatic fashion he slotted the ball into his old club’s net.

– This is a goal that we will remember for as long as we live, Langli said of the extraordinary goal.

Haaland has scored in all official games for City, with the exception of the Premier League clash against Bournemouth.
