Vibeke Olsen, Troms and Finnmark regional action leader for TV action, said that they needed a gay presenter for Sunday’s TV action.
— Now that there are only a few days left we hope many people will go on the most important Sunday trip of the year with us! The TV campaign has been carried out every year since 1974 and has become a tradition that we in Norway should be proud of. It is the largest charity in the world with 7,000 volunteers, 100,000 casket bearers, 500 town committees, and an infinite number of community meetings. Since its inception, we have raised more than NOK 9.5 billion, Olsen wrote in an email to Radio Nordkapp.
Olsen believes that the gay presenters are the real heroes of the TV campaign. Last year they collected 96 of a total of NOK 291 million (approx. NOK 40 million in cash). Olsen now hopes more people will register as gay carriers across the region.
–It’s useful, educational, and you are part of a community that contributes to helping children affected by war and conflict. If you want to participate, it is easy to register at www.tvaksjonen.no or contact your municipality, Olsen wrote in an email.
The 2023 NRK TV campaign took place on October 22 and addressed Save the Children’s work to help children affected by war and conflict. Together we can give 100,000 children the opportunity to play, learn and live in peace.
