Days after it was announced that UFC boss Dana White’s new organization the Power Slap Fighting League would debut on January 18, a video has been leaked to the media showing just how dangerous the sport can become.
Footage from the Romanian organization RXF Slap Fighting tournament instantly went viral on social media, and a fighter named Sorin Comsa caused a wave of dislike for the sport rather than promoting it. He received significant injuries during the fight, but even that did not prevent him from continuing to fight.

Nine crazy shots took their toll. The left side of Comsa’s head can be seen swollen and bleeding in the video. However, he continued the fight somewhat madly and received another crazy slap in the tenth round, after which he complained about an alleged foul. Hits to the temple are prohibited in this sport.
However, it seemed that the warrior’s suffering was not in vain. Comsa took over the RFX championship belt from the organization and emerged victorious in a tournament with a prize pool of around CZK 120,000. However, the organization received a wave of criticism from both casual fans of combat sports and the professional public.
Most of the reactions expressed disgust for the whole sport and its dangers to the health of fighters. Conor McGregor was quick to react. “Absolutely beautiful technique, congrats to the new heavyweight champion,” responded to on social media. Whether he meant it cynically, we can only speculate.
However, as already mentioned, most fans reacted to the video with disdain. Below are just a few responses, but lots of opinions have also been gathered contribution on our Facebook page.
“The man’s face was swollen and bleeding but he kept walking, it was not healthy.
“A fighting sport where you can’t defend yourself is useless.
“Absolutely disgusting.
“Brain injury for 5,000 euros? How is this money made?”
“At first I was a bit intrigued, but it was really not fun to watch.”
“Ultimate CTE Championship.”
“The fact that it’s legal says a lot about this country.”
More recently, slapping was a “sport” that was widely condemned, mainly because it was so dangerous for its participants. Not long ago, it ended with the death of a famous strongman in Poland. But at the same time, this entertainment is in the spotlight, because the head of the UFC, Dana White, also created his own organization. The first tournament was supposed to be broadcast on America’s TBS channel last week, but the start was postponed due to Dan’s New Year’s Eve incident, when cameras caught him slapping his wife during a heated argument. The first Slap League event won’t take place until tomorrow around 4am our time.
