Radio Free Europe reporters asked random passersby in Moscow why NATO countries are arming Ukraine on a large scale. Most of those interviewed saw it as an act of hostility, but there were also those who supported arming the Ukrainian army.

“They put pressure on us. They just want money, they don’t care about Ukrainians at all,” replied the older man. “They want to incite the Ukrainians against us,” another agreed.
“Why did they add fuel to the fire?” asked a middle-aged man. “That’s what happened, they wanted the war to continue,” he continued explaining his position. Retirement age women interviewed responded to the same question. “They won’t beat us. Russia is unbeatable,” one of them claimed.
However, some of the young people discussed in the article support arming Ukraine. And this despite the fact that such an attitude can make it much more difficult for them and, in the worst case scenario, land them in prison. Since the beginning of the invasion, Russia began to resemble a country with totalitarian practices.
Russia calls its invasion of Ukraine a special military operation. Thousands of civilians have died during the shelling of cities and barbaric acts of the Russian army. There are tens of thousands of people killed under the ruined ruins of Mariupol, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeated several times in the past.
Russian propaganda denies these reports and claims that Russia is only destroying military targets. They attribute all the loss of civilian life to the so-called Nazi elements in the Ukrainian army.
