In total, the Norwegian Sports Confederation accepted 13 applicants for the position. In addition, NIF, through external assistance, has been in contact with several relevant candidates in relation to the application process.
– After a thorough and solid recruitment process, today we have appointed Tore vreb as the top sports manager for the new four years at the Norwegian Sports Confederation. This has been an extensive process in which we have dialogued with and interviewed some solid and well-qualified applicants. After an overall assessment, I feel confident that Tore vreb is the right candidate to develop Norway’s top sport in the desired direction in the years to come, said Norwegian Sports Confederation General Secretary Nils Einar Aas and added:
– Tore vreb is highly motivated for the job, and we look forward to leveraging his solid leadership qualities and top-notch sporting competence as well in the years to come. In close collaboration with special associations and national team circles, I am confident that the Olympic Summit under the leadership of vreb will continue to develop more medal candidates in summer and winter sports and thereby further strengthen Norway’s position as one of the world’s leading sports nations.
Tore vreb has been head of top-flight sport since 2013 and is grateful that he has now renewed his confidence and looks forward to taking on four new years in the position of top sports manager.
– First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your trust. I am humbled to my task and very motivated for the new four years as a top sports manager. Ambition for Norway’s top sport remains unchanged. We will continue to perform at the highest international level. On our own initiative, in 2020 we request an external evaluation of the work of the Olympic Summit and possible improvements to develop the Olympic Summit as a modern and future-oriented organization. The consequences of this work are now being brought to life. I look forward to leading this important process, said top sports manager Tore vreb and added:
– I would also like to emphasize two important strategic focus areas that will govern my leadership over the next four years. A strengthened meeting place for our top athletes through a new top national sports center and improved financing for the living conditions of the athletes and their commitment to the national team. It is about personal finances and the quality of the sports program in the national team.
