On Saturday, there will be a folk festival in Erling Braut Haaland’s hometown as TV 2 shifts all final studio broadcasts to Bryne.
– We were intrigued by this idea from the first time we heard the proposal for a folk festival in Bryne around the final. With the impressive efforts of the city government of Time and the Bryne business association, we now have a truly unique framework around Erling Braut Haaland’s hunt for the club’s most valuable trophy, says Vegard sports editor Jansen Hagen on TV 2.
Already at 19.00 Saturday night, the broadcast starts from Bryne Torg with presenters Jon Børrestad and Ingrid Halstensen. The experts at the studio in Bryne are Morten Langli, Mina Finstad Berg and Simen Stamsø-Møller.
– We have a strong presence in Istanbul and in Bryne. An extraordinary event like this final deserves a standout broadcast. When the cuisine of Istanbul’s last city is combined with a sizzling folk festival in the square in Bryne then we have the broadcast we are so looking forward to sharing with many people on Saturday, commented Jansen Hagen.
And with the fine weather forecast for the weekend, all set for a fantastic night in Bryne.
– The city is looking forward to a folk festival in the square in fine weather. We are proud of Erling and we want to show it to the world. So all the forces of good — city government, businesses, and volunteers — stood together to create a historic evening, said Kenneth Lia, leader of the Bryne Business Association.
Mayor Time is also looking forward to it.
– Erling delivers world class on the court, and is a fantastic ambassador for Bryne and Jæren. “I hope it will be a night young and old alike have a fantastic football experience at Bryne Torg,” said Time mayor Andreas Vollsund.
Program manager Jon Børrestad hopes to conquer Erling Braut Haaland’s hometown.
– I think it’s great that we’re broadcasting football’s biggest event of the year from grassroots and Bryne. It also mirrors the way Erling Braut Haaland went from the lower divisions in Norway to the world’s biggest stage. I hope that the people of Jær will fill the square and help create an unforgettable football party for themselves and all of our viewers, said Jon Børrestad.
Broadcast on the main channel TV 2 Direkte and on TV 2 Play starts at 19.00 and lasts until midnight. On TV 2 Play, the final is broadcast in 4K quality.
