Starting at 12 o’clock on Thursday, the main channel TV 2 will use the name TV 2 Directe. TV 2 Nyhetskanalen changed its name to TV 2 Nyheter.
– The name change is in line with the ongoing branding work that the media house has been doing since winter 2021. Basically, it’s about the fact that we wanted the TV 2 name to be our parent brand, and TV 2 to be the shipper. We see that it is difficult to find and differentiate services from one another. We’re doing something about it now, says TV 2 boss Olav T. Sandnes Media24.
He stressed that the channel will still have the same content.
– Direct TV 2 will continue to show the same content, but the changes will make it clear that our content universe extends beyond just the main channel. Our ambition is not that most people will use that name and say “I saw this on Direct TV 2”. Instead, we want people to say they’ve watched TV 2, he said.
