Timeline on Clas Brede Bråthen and the labor dispute with the Norwegian Ski Association:
* August 17, 2021 : TV 2 reveals the Norwegian Ski Association’s decision to terminate Clas Brede Bråthen’s contract as jump manager. In a letter, coach Alexander Stöckl, the athletes and other jumping departments demanded that the association retain Bråthen.
* Letters published by VG indicated that Bråthen had been threatened with sacking in December 2020 after, among other things, she strongly criticized her own association’s lack of focus on equality in a Dagbladet interview, and this was the reason for the postponement of the women’s World Cup race in Lillehammer.
* August 20: Bråthen announces he will sue the ski association and demand permanent employment.
* August 21: Jump organizers at the Norwegian Ski Association say that co-op issues are the reason why Bråthen will not be awarded a new contract.
* Five days later, the ski association board came out and supported the jump committee’s decision not to renew the contract to Bråthen.
* September 3: Sponsors of the national ski jumping team threaten to terminate their financial agreement with the ski association. Ski Federation General Secretary Ingvild Bretten Berg replied that “we cannot put money above a work environment”.
* September: Secretary General Berg regrets that Bråthen has rejected offers for two different permanent positions. In the proposal, “administrative work and managerial tasks” was not included.
* September 28: Bråthen submits a summons to the Oslo district court in which he demands, among other things, permanent employment. It also appeared that he had accepted a compromise proposal that was endorsed by the jumping committee. This will be discussed with the Norwegian Ski Association.
* September 30: The Ski Association rejects the compromise proposal and explains that it cannot accept Bråthen’s request to elect their own leader. The NSF is open to starting the termination process.
* October 1: Hoppers’ main sponsor, LO, temporarily ceases financial support to the Norwegian Ski Association.
* October 4: The Ski Association receives a subpoena in a lawsuit from Bråthen. The deadline for responses is October 20.
* October 5: Bråthen is summoned for a discussion meeting with the ski association. This is mandatory in the termination process.
* October 9: Per Bergerud resigns from the jumping committee in protest.
* October 14: Ski Association and Bråthen meet for discussion meeting.
* October 21: The parties agree on a solution. Bråthen will move into a new role as national team manager on a four-year contract, but will be removed from administrative duties.
* November 3: Alf Tore Haug resigns as stepping committee chair. He cites the great weight surrounding the conflict with Bråthen as the cause.
* 22 November: Bråthen signs an agreement making him national team manager. The Ski Association appointed Ståle Villumstad as sporting director.
* October 2022: Terje Svabø and Astrid Versto publish the book “Hopsjel”, in which Bråthen talks about the conflict with the ski association.
* November 14: VG reports that the Norwegian Ski Association has reinstated Clas Brede Bråthen as sport jump manager.
