As of Monday 1 May, a snow hazard warning has been issued for most of Eastern Norway, the Meteorological Institute reported on Twitter.

– 5 to 10 centimeters of snow is expected in the areas where it gets the most snow.

In coastal areas, precipitation turns to rain in the first half of the day, according to meteorologists.

Meteorologists have also sent out yellow warnings for snow to lowlands in Western Norway this weekend.

Spring one day in the north

Even in Northern Norway there are not very good prospects for a warm spring.

However, the residents of Nuvsvåg in Troms and Finnmark got a taste of spring on Friday, when the thermometer suddenly dropped to 14 degrees.

In northern Norway, especially northern Nordland and southern Troms, warnings have been issued for snow in high altitude areas this weekend.

Vegtrafikksentralen warns against switching to summer tires as soon as possible.

– There will be up to 10 to 20 centimeters in 24 hours, mostly in the mountains, which is enough to cause challenging driving conditions later this spring, the Meteorological Institute wrote in a hazard warning.

The snow line will be between 100 and 300 meters above sea level.
