“If the restorer – Mr. Prof. Cucu – he invaded your personal property at the hero exhibition, so maybe you can tell us what kind of property it is? And maybe you can tell us from which civilization you come if these items were violated by you?” – Natalia Nitek-Płażyńska asked at an extraordinary session of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Assembly.
During an extraordinary session of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Assembly, PiS MP Kacper Płażyński spoke about the impossibility of implementing an effective history policy in these conditions in the context of the surprising changes at the Second World War Museum in Gdańsk, where the new management removed Polish heroes and martyrs from the exhibition.
I really can’t imagine how Poland will be freed from the shackles of historical lies, which unfortunately are often spread both in the West and abroad. Do you remember Barak Obama talking about Polish concentration camps? He was able to do such a thing because, unfortunately, the Polish cultural institutions are run – professors – by people who do not understand the Polish point of view, and not only the Polish point of view, but also the real version of history on which everyone is based. This country will be proud, proud of it, showing it at every scientific seminar, at every conference there is. Because we have something to be proud of, we have great heroes. We have people, unlike in the West, unlike in the East, who are absolutely honest and give their lives for their honesty and greatness. Live for Poland and live for others.
– said MP Kacper Płażyński to Prof. Cucu. acting director of the Museum of the Second World War.
The World War II Museum is visited by 500,000 people every year, including 100,000 foreigners. Do we want Polish history taught by people who compare the blessed Ulma family or Captain Pilecki to Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse?
— Płażyński wrote on the X platform.
Rights violation, but who?
Natalia Nitek-Płażyńska, the wife of a PiS MP, also spoke at the session and called for the unanimous adoption of a resolution that would restore the previous form of exhibition at the Second World War Museum.
The adoption of the resolution will support the efforts to restore the previous form of the exhibition and will contribute to ending the shameful and ugly situation for Pomerania caused by the changes in the exhibition. Our voice expressed outside of political divisions will also be a symbolic expression of respect for those who have reached the pinnacle of humanity and patriotism. We owe them our respect
– says Natalia Nitek-Płażyńska.
Ladies and gentlemen. Please, let’s show that we can be serious and use common sense. Let’s adopt this resolution unanimously, let’s support truth and memory. Let’s behave decently. And finally, after what we’ve heard today, I have a question: if the restorer – Prof. Cucu – he invaded your private property in the heroes’ exhibition, so maybe you can tell us what kind of property it is? And maybe you can tell us what civilization you come from if those things were violated by you?
– asked Nitek-Płażyńska.
