The discovery, made in early September, was the second largest diamond struck at the park this year. In March, a similar diamond weighing 3.29 carats was discovered.
– The girl visited the park with her father and grandmother to celebrate her birthday. He found the diamond, which was the size of a pea, on the trail, the park itself wrote in a press release.
The find turned out to be a golden brown diamond. According to diamond experts in the area, it is an intact crystal with no cracks or other damage.

Crater of Diamonds State Park is known as the only place in the world where diamonds are open to the public. Each year, visitors discover a total of more than 600 diamonds.
In total, more than 75,000 diamonds have been discovered in the area since the discovery was first made.
– The girl’s discovery is definitely one of the most beautiful finds I’ve seen found here in recent years, said Waymon Cox, who works at Crater of Diamonds State Park.
