Haven’t watched the outdoor show yet? You have one last chance to make things right and even though it’s expected to rain, you need to get the cultural experience right for the end of the holiday.

Summer Shakespeare Festival

While in July he visited this famous festival with a star-studded cast from Brno, Prague,
Ostrava and Bratislava, August shows will take place mainly in Prague.

This year’s celebration, outside the grounds of the AMU Faculty of Music and Dance, is being held again at Prague Castle after six years with the premiere of the comedy film As You Like It directed by Jakub Nvota. But you can also look forward to Winter’s Tale. The scene ends on September 2.

Metropolitan Summer Actor

As part of the twentieth anniversary of the Metropolitan Summer Actor’s Theater Show, Studio Dva has prepared two new comedies – Guys for self and Bez roucha.

Shows will normally take place in Vyšehrad and Holešovice Exhibition Center until September 2, but they will also visit Tvrze Divica and Vítězná u Dvora Králové. In addition to the usual drama repertoire, this year you will also see the popular musical The Crazy Sad Princess starring Berenika Kohoutová and Jan China.

Ungelt’s theatrical summer scene

In August, you can also enjoy an open-air play on the Ungelt Theater’s summer stage, which underwent major renovations the previous year. In the ancient Hradčany pod Loretou section of Nové Svět, which is now also covered, five new shows can be seen.

One of the novelties is the adaptation of Tale from the Zoo by acclaimed playwright Edward Albee, with Ondřej Brousek and David Švehlík in the main roles. You can also look forward to the comedy Table for Two or Richard Krajč’s one-man show All the Beautiful Things which will be running until mid-September. Of course there are also reruns from previous years, for example Beautiful Memory or the award-winning Vejšlap.

Theatrical summer will symbolically end with the theatrical Forest Festival, which takes place in the natural amphitheater above the center of Řevnice. Surrounded by beautiful nature, you’ll spot two of the Dejvické Theater regulars: Vina? and Resurrection. The entire festival will conclude on September 3 with an experimental performance of Clash of the Titans by the Vosto5 theater.
