☒ ADVERTISEMENTS:
– Lobsters less than 25 centimeters long must be returned to the sea, inform the Directorate of Fisheries about Facebook.
On the Skagerrak coast, from the border with Sweden up to and including the Agder region, a maximum length of 32 cm has been introduced for lobsters.
Eight new conservation areas
To determine the total length of the lobster, measure from the tip of the forehead horn to the rear edge of the middle fin.
Lobsters with their eggs are protected all year round, and of course fishing lines are not allowed in the approximately 60 lobster conservation areas along the coast.
Blower and tea should be marked with name and telephone number. Make sure you have the right rope, knots, and lifts so you don’t lose the rope.
Lobster traps must have a minimum of two escape holes, and also have escape holes with weathered wire so that the lobster can escape if the trap is lost. Read more about this Here.
Divers and freedivers are not allowed to take lobsters – they can only be caught with a fishing line. If you want to fish for lobsters, you must register at www.fiskeridir.no
We urge all lobster fishermen to be very careful in keeping their trawls neat and rigged so they don’t get lost. Do your part to prevent ghost fishing!
