Former PO politician, and currently Polish Coalition MP, doesn’t believe Donald Tusk’s explanation that he showed Putin where he lived on the docks in Sopot? “I don’t know…” commented the head of the Polish Center party, Ireneusz Raś. This self-doubt says a lot.
Talk about the docks in Sopot… and Tusk’s outing with Putin
A politician appearing on Polskie Radio 24 was asked by the presenter about attacks on a branch of the Polish economy, namely tourism, by publishing “horror receipts”. During this thread it was said to be always expensive along the main routes in the mountains and by the sea, and cheaper when “entering the backyard”.
Unexpectedly, the topic of conversation turned to… Donald Tusk and Vladimir Putin on the dock in Sopot.
I think that’s how it works you know, it’s about competitiveness. If someone is on the promenade in Sopot, on the pier…
– said the chairman of the Polish Center party.
I purposely avoid these terms!
— joked host, editor Adrian Klarenbach.
I always laugh a little at public television, that in between big politics and current strife, Donald Tusk, who was featured on TVP Info a few years ago walking with Putin, in a historical reference to a different time, is still walking. It reminds me of a pier
– continued Raś.
So the journalist asked if today the former PO politician finally believes that Tusk showed Putin where he ran and where he lived, referring to the PO leader’s explanation of that conversation in 2009.
I do not know…
– answered MP Raś in surprise.
I know Donald Tusk is running. I don’t know where he lives… But I think Putin was pretending to play hockey at that time.
– said the former PO politician, slightly joking about the Russian dictator.

“Reset” and notes after the Tusk-Putin meeting
Let us recall that in the sixth episode of the program “Reset” by Michał Rachoń and Sławomir Cenckiewicz, the issue of Putin’s meeting with the Polish Prime Minister during his visit in early September 2009 – on the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II – in Gdańsk and Sopot was raised. The program makers presented diplomatic notes written after the meeting between Tusk and Putin.
The documents clearly show that the aim of re-establishing relations between Poland and Russia was to bring Polish-Russian relations to the standards prevailing in Russia’s relations with Germany.
– the author emphasizes, referring to the text of the note. As quoted, in the meeting with Putin, Tusk emphasized that “dialogue and cooperation between Poland and Russia cannot be worse than cooperation between Poland and Germany and between Russia and Germany.”
At the same time, he stressed that it is inconceivable that establishing a Polish-German dialogue would be easier than a Polish-Russian dialogue regarding World War II.
– said TVP Info.
As emphasized in the published note, “Based on the above opinion, Prime Minister Putin expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Tusk for his personal commitment and the involvement of the government he leads in improving Polish-Russian relations.”
Realizing that “it is possible to cooperate with the government of the Republic of Poland”, Putin pointed out the need to strengthen the Christian dimension in Polish-Russian cooperation, as Christianity is the spiritual leaven of European values. Unity
– emphasizes TVP Info.

It must be admitted that the associations and doubts of Ireneusz Raś (let us emphasize, a former PO politician!) regarding the Tusk-Putin conversation on the dock in Sopot are quite convincing.
