Černochová criticized Zelensky: This really doesn’t work, sorry

Defense Minister Jana Černochová (ODS) openly criticized the Ukrainian president.

Initially, Volodymyr Zelensky’s words were caused by a dispute over Ukrainian grain exports. In New York, the president scolded his European friends that they were only playing solidarity and playing a “thriller with wheat.”

“We have opened a temporary maritime export corridor. We are trying to preserve land routes. It is worrying that some in Europe are playing solidarity as part of political theater – turning the news into a thriller. They may appear to be sticking to their respective roles, but in reality they are helping to set the stage for the actors from Moscow.” he stated before the UN General Assembly.

Due to the ongoing embargo, Ukraine even filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization on Monday against Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, which also extended the import ban.

“President berates them at UN”

The response to Zelensky’s statement was not long in coming. Černochová wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that Poland is her second home thanks to her parents, which is why she regrets insulting Poles.

“Today, the statement by the President of Ukraine towards Poland really did not go down well, sorry. And what’s worse, on Tuesday, Ukraine also filed a complaint with the WTO against Poland, Slovakia and Hungary over wheat. Yes, it happens,” he wrote on his profile.

He warned that Poland and Slovakia will soon hold important elections, and that it will be difficult to explain to voters that countries that “have provided aid intensively for a year and a half” are “filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization.” before their ultra-fundamental elections”. “And the president openly rebuked them at the UN,” the minister said.

Without Polish weapons

Warsaw also reacted. The Foreign Ministry summoned the Ukrainian ambassador to express a strong protest against Zelenskyi’s remarks.

Moreover, in a tense atmosphere, Poland informed that currently it is not supplying weapons to Kiev, because it is arming its own army.

“Ukraine is defending itself from a terrible Russian attack, and I understand the situation. However, as I said, we will protect our country. We no longer supply weapons to Ukraine, because we are now arming Poland,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was quoted as saying in contribution on his office’s social network X.

Poland is one of Ukraine’s most important political and military supporters, having been defending itself against Russian aggression since last February. Warsaw surrendered most of its arsenal to Kiev. Polish politicians justified banning wheat imports at the height of the election campaign by trying to protect their own farmers, who would otherwise have to face cheaper production from the east.
