A computer game lover decorates his room as a shuttle cockpit

Tinnakorn Sriwichai lives in the province of Chonburi in eastern Thailand. To those around him, he might just be an ordinary neighbor, his teammates from the online game Star Citizen knew him as Bankii. And since he is a real fan of this online space game, he fulfills his dream and transforms his room to look like the cockpit of the fictional C2 Hercules space shuttle.

As reported by the AP agency, he paid around 492,000 crowns for the interior and computers alone, but that was far from the only expense, he spent a total of 735,000 crowns on the transformation of the room.

He achieved a very realistic impression especially by placing three 65-inch LED monitors, which offer a beautiful view of space and from it to planet Earth. Underneath there is a curved Samsung CJ890 gaming screen as a “control panel”.

The entrance to his own room comes from the corridor, which the 31-year-old streamer also renovated. He chose the iconic train from the film Ice Ark with automatic doors as his basic inspiration.

An enthusiast turns his room into the cockpit of a spaceship from the computer game Star Citizen.

Bankii, or Tinnakorn, said that he was inspired by computer games and the space shuttle in them. He liked the interior so much that he decided to create his environment at home.

It took him three months to change the room and hallway. He worked with various architects on the final form, revising the design several times before he was completely satisfied and achieved the look of the shuttle in his study, where he spent most of his time. He actually said, “I spend about 12 hours here every day. I work here and play games. I mostly work and play games for about three to four hours.”

Although one would not recognize it at first glance, some parts of the room’s furnishings served as common facilities, such as a storage room. In his case, however, they don’t look like closets, but rather like storage spaces on airplanes. Very conveniently, he also has a dining facility beside him, where he can quickly prepare something to eat without having to leave his kingdom at all.

He also wins very well with room lighting, where he has a special controller from Virpil Controls imported from Europe, with his help he operates all the lights in his “cockpit”. “It’s a really cool feeling when you can use different buttons to do it, it’s like you’re flying a real spaceship,” he boasted. In addition to visual effects, adjustable lighting also has a practical purpose, as it can precisely adjust the mood of the room’s lighting according to its current game mode.

Bankii is really passionate about its game room. “You feel like you’re in outer space and never want to leave. He wants you to forget the outside world.” Therefore, it was no wonder that he was also thinking about changing another room in his apartment. “I think in the future I will renovate the lounge and living room to look like a space shuttle too, into a capsule bedroom and a spaceship kitchen.”

And because the Thai is such a great visionary, he already has plans for the distant future should the technology for simulating weights become more widespread. He will also find its use in his apartment.
