Friday September 29th will be an important date in “Sin City”: The Sphere will open to the public for the first time. Lyd & Bilde previously wrote about the giant LED ball that is expected to become one of the biggest entertainment stages in Vegas.

The billion-dollar project was unveiled this weekend by U2 holding an opening concert, but a new “immersive” video presentation has also been created, paying tribute to Elvis Presley.
KING SIZE is said to be the largest video collage ever created, which will be displayed on massive 16K resolution LED screens covering the walls inside The Sphere.
KING SIZE by Marco Brambilla
KING SIZE deals with Elvis – the king of rock’n’roll – and his life, career and death in Las Vegas. At the same time, it reflects culture, capitalism, the “American Dream”, and the consequences of the development of artificial intelligence
Video material created by artists Marco Brambillaknown for using digital imaging technology and artificial intelligence in its complex video installations.
To bring Elvis back to life on screen, Brambilla has used machine learning to process more than 12,000 film samples (including 33 films starring Elvis) – and the result is a mix of existing and AI-generated video clips.
The presentation will contain 1,000 individual film clips, and CGI/computer graphics are used to create 3D versions of various objects and add detail layer by layer.
Premieres September 29
KING SIZE opens at Sphere in Las Vegas on September 29th and will run through December 16th. Organizers and producers were of course limited with video material so close to the premiere – but they still shared a video teaser which you can see below. Then we just have to imagine how it will look and sound on The Sphere’s huge LED screen and speaker system…
Elvis has left the building!
Who could better portray the world’s greatest (flamboyant) artist than glitzy director Baz Luhrmann?
