According to the police, the two groups got into a fight.
– There’s one group that rents halls, and then there’s another group that disagrees with some of the political messages they’re fighting for, that show up here to make their mark. They had done it in a slightly stupid way, by coming into the room and then ending in a fight, task leader Svend Bjelland told Dagbladet.
– What grouping are we talking about?
– There is political disagreement about the situation in Eritrea, answered Bjelland.
No one was seriously injured in the collision, but two people were treated by ambulance.
On Twitter, police said there were between 15 and 20 people trying to sabotage the event.
– This may have been experienced dramatically for those inside, but as I said, no one was seriously hurt, so in a sense that’s good.
No one has been arrested yet.
– Those who entered have been kicked out of the place. If they choose to return, they may be brought in and fined for disobeying police orders, the taskmaster said.
Bjelland made the clear call ahead of tonight’s celebrations in Ekeberghallen.
– They get a well deserved vacation. And if you don’t agree, you have some guidelines in Norway that you must adhere to. We will make arrangements for everyone to have their say, but it must be done quietly according to the rules.
Police will be present in Ekeberghallen throughout the night, and are continuing to assess the situation, Bjelland said.
