Erling Braut Haaland meets old club Borussia Dortmund – here’s the Champions League group
Erling Braut Haaland and Manchester City will face, among others, Borussia Dortmund in this autumn’s Champions League group stage.
That meant a reunion with his former hometown and the “Yellow Wall” in the Dortmund arena for Haaland. City are seeded 1st in Thursday’s draw. They drew Sevilla from level 2, Dortmund from level 3 and FC Copenhagen from level 4.
Haaland became Dortmund’s top scorer in the 2020/21 Champions League season.
Defending champions Real Madrid will face RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic in Group F. Last season’s losing finalists, Liverpool, will face Ajax, Napoli and Rangers in Group A.
Dinamo Zagreb, who beat Bodø/Glimt in the final qualifying round on Wednesday, ended up in a very tough group with Milan, Chelsea and Salzburg.
