President-elect Petr Pavel underwent a medical examination this morning at the Central Military Hospital (ÚVN) in Prague. In keeping with his pre-election campaign promises, he intends to announce the results before his inauguration which will take place on March 9. On Twitter, after the examination, Pavel said that for now it doesn’t seem like he has any ailments.
Shortly before the first round of the presidential election in January, Pavel told the Lidovy newspaper that he was feeling very well. He added that he is ready to issue a report on the results of the overall inspection. “I also want to finish this for myself in ÚVN,” he said then. At a news conference on Monday, he told reporters he would conduct a thorough examination today and would publish the results before the inauguration.
He had a checkup this morning, he’s got three and a half hours on the public calendar set aside for the test. “I have to get the results before the inauguration and at that time I will publish them as I promised before the election. For now, it doesn’t look like I’m suffering from any health ailments, so I’m confident I’ll run for the presidency in full force.” wrote the president-elect. At the same time as this announcement, he published a photo in which he is accompanied in the hospital corridor by ÚVN director Miroslav Zavoral, who is also the chief state physician Miloš Zeman.
the current president’s health Milos Zeman attracted attention for a long time. As of fall 2021, Zeman has been hospitalized twice, both times initially in serious condition in intensive care clinics. Doctors justified the need for treatment because of complications associated with the president’s chronic illness. Nurses in Lány have been looking after the president since he returned from hospital.
