Průhonický Park is unique in the Czech Republic and in the world, but you can find it just a few kilometers from Prague. From 1885, it was created by Arnošt Emanuel counting Silva-Tarouca until his death in 1936, that is, almost fifty years. Thus, he created a unique work by a single author. This year the park will celebrate 138 years of its existence. His work is now being continued by the Průhonický Garden Administration of the Botanical Institute of the Czech Republic Academy of Sciences. But before you go through the whole park, you will sweat a lot, because there are paths of up to 25 kilometers waiting for you, but you definitely won’t be bored.

“Predominant in the garden are the three large ponds, a nice relaxing environment, the rose garden where we are now, a very relaxing place in the touch of a castle, where the roses bloom and smell good all season. “I can’t afford to leave the huge collection of rhododendrons in bloom. We have almost 8,000 of them in 220 species and cultivars, in our vast courtyard we have, for example, davidia listenová, which is a very attractive tree, heat-loving pavlovnia, which is also there, the nutkaj cypress, which the count planted and has very impressive dimensions, we also have the Průhonice magnolia, which is planted in the garden, it is a relatively mature tree that has large leaves, beautiful large white flowers and smells good ,” says Jiří Šmída – head of the Průhonické Park Administration.

Above all, Průhonický Park offers a stunning view that opens from the garden towards the Neo-Renaissance castle. Filmmakers love to seek it out for fairytale shoots, call it, for example, No joke with the devil, and potential mates love to say “yes” here. Anyway, here’s a tip for a nice walk, which, given the size of the park, could take all day.
