In the Cannes-current film “Sick Girl” by screenwriter and director Kristoffer Borgli, artist Cezinando appears.
Dagbladet has seen the current Cannes feature film. After watching the film, it is possible to see clear similarities between parts of the film’s plot and the furniture theft for which artist Kristoffer Cezinando Karlsen was recently convicted.
Among other things, the main character steals designer chairs in broad daylight – while the shop is open to customers. Cezinando also explained that he and others involved had done so.
In addition, the protagonist’s apartment is full of expensive designer chairs, which are reported to have been stolen.

Included in the movie
In the party scene at the beginning of the film, the artist himself is also seen on the film screen – if you look closely.
Cezinando’s manager, Silje Larsen Borgan, confirmed to Dagbladet that the artist appeared in the film as an extra on one of the filming days, but they did not want to comment on matters beyond that.
– Kristoffer was invited in addition and participated in the recording day. Beyond that, we have no comment on the film’s content, Larsen Borgan wrote in an SMS to Dagbladet.
Several lines from Cezinando’s big hit “May you have room” are also sung by one of the film’s main characters.
Dagbladet has tried to get an interview with film director Kristoffer Borgli, but he hasn’t had a chance to answer questions.
However, it was stated that the “Sick Girl” filmed in Oslo and Gothenburg in fall 2021. This means, long before it was known to the public that Cezinando was one of the suspects in the furniture theft case. The thefts were actually committed in January, February and March 2021

World premiere in Cannes
“Sick Girl”, in English “Sick Of Myself”, had its world premiere at the prestigious Cannes film festival on Sunday.
The film was selected for screening during the festival’s Un Certain Regard programme.
– Being invited to Cannes and Un Certain Regard is a fantastic recognition for Kristoffer as director and the best start we could have dreamed of for this film, said the film’s producers, Dyveke Bjørkly Graver and Andrea Berentsen Ottmar at Oslo Pictures, in press release when the Cannes news became known.
The film is screenwriter and director Kristoffer Borgli’s second feature film, following his debut «DRIB» from 2017.
Bjørkly Graver and Berentsen Ottmar are also the producers behind the award-winning and Oscar-nominated “The World’s Worst Man,” along with Thomas Robsahm.
This is the second year in a row that Norway’s contribution is represented during the festival, when “The World’s Worst Man” also participated, and won best female actress, in last year’s main competition.
“Sick Girl” is about 29-year-old Signe, who feels inadequate compared to her peers. After an accident at work, he embarks on a self-realization project, in which the goal is to gain attention and consideration from others. Viewers witnessed how far Signe was willing to go to achieve her goals.
The film will premiere in Norway in September this year.
Norwegian rapper arrested
Sentenced to community service
The award-winning artist is best known for the song “May You Have Space”, and the albums “Sometimes and Others” and “A good dive into shallow water”. For the latter, it has also received excellent reviews from reviewer Mathias Rødahl at Dagbladet. Rødahl called Cezinando “Norway’s best lyricist”. The 26-year-old has previously received the Spellemann Prize and P3 Gold.
On Monday 16 May, Cezinando was sentenced to 120 hours of community service for participating in five thefts of luxury furniture. The thefts were carried out in January, February and March 2021, and the total value of the furniture stolen was NOK 380,000.
In addition to community service, the artist was also sentenced to pay compensation of 16,320 kroner to Feniqia Oslo AS, one of the places where furniture was stolen.
The artist had already admitted to the theft before he appeared in a confession case at the Oslo District Court on Monday. In court, he pleaded guilty to aggravated theft, as well as liability for damages.
– I look back with regret, and I am glad that I had the opportunity to return it in cooperation with the police. The general feeling is regret and motivation to forget it, he explained.
The 26-year-old man remained silent when asked about the motive for the theft.
“Unfortunately, I don’t want to answer that,” the artist said in court, but later added that the theft was carried out for his own benefit.
