“-As we celebrate our first birthday, it’s a great honor to dig into the Norwegian rock history books a little too. The return of SPAN to Ekeberg on Friday 28 June 2024 is something that will be appreciated by many” Jarle Kvåle, Many Stones.
REACH known for their captivating live performances and catchy rock songs. They were one of the biggest bands of the early 2000s, and dominated the live and festival stages both at home and abroad. The early 2000s were a golden age in Norwegian rock music and SPAN had spent 10 years in Norway and England before they released their debut album. Mass Disruption in 2004. After 15 years with hundreds of sweaty backstage people, thousands of miles on the band bus, indoor sunglasses and pre-signed busts, the band decided to call it quits in 2005. Now they’re ready for a reunion – the final chapter in the mane which includes Norway’s biggest rock festival, Ton of Rock.
– «Metallic And Two beers important to each of us in our formative years. It’s crazy that they are still relevant and are now one of the biggest bands in the world. The last time we shared a festival poster with Metallica was in 2004. That’s when it ended Lars Ulrich at the hospital, and the band played along Joey Jordan and Dave Lombardo on drums. Excited to see what they come up with this year? It’s great to be playing the same festival as our old heroes and in our own hometown. And when we first had our reunion, 20 years later, it was so cool that we were still the youngest! We brought the Roll to Ton Of Rock!” said SPAN on the occasion of Ton of Rock.
