The weekend consists of information about the championship, German lessons, media training and group training sessions among other things. The athletes also received information on how to maintain health and how to eat right.
– We are very satisfied with the weekend, and I think the athletes are looking forward to the trip to Berlin in June. The most important thing for us is that you have to see the joy of sport for everyone, that’s the most important thing. We also wish someone to go home with a medal and we did well, while at the same time we have good friendships in the team, said Mette Berg, head of the delegation.

Never before has Norway sent such a large army to a World Games. The athletes come from the sports of badminton, bowling, athletics, golf, handball, judo, equestrian, rhythmic gymnastics, swimming and gymnastics.
Sports president Berit Kjøll also traveled to greet the squad.
– It’s impressive to feel the excitement of the sport vibrating in the room here. I wish the best for the whole squad, said the sports president.

All dreams are equally precious
In 2022, the Norwegian Sports Confederation launched the parastrategy Én sports – equal opportunities. The ambition to reach everyone means that we must facilitate a diverse offering where as many people as possible find their place and can develop according to their own wants and needs.
Sport Norway wants to promote diversity in sport. Sport is an arena where everyone can dream as big as they want.
– All dreams are equally valuable, and sport is an arena where everyone is allowed to dream as big as they want. It is precisely through sports that people with developmental disabilities can find new abilities, skills and success, said Berg.
