Instead of “Wiadomości”, TVP 1 today broadcast only a short speech by Marek Czyż, the new host.

“You have the right to expect an explanation. “No Polish citizen is obliged to listen to propaganda, every citizen has the right to request reliable, professional and honest information,” said Czyż.

And further: “This news is for you. They will present world photography. Not a painting, but a photo. The painting was painted in the studio over a period of eight years. I assure you, it will be over soon. Rather than propaganda soup, now is the time for clean water.

Czyż concluded: “There will be no news today, but tomorrow we will give you an informative program. My name is Marek Czyż.”

Tomasz Sygut became the new president of Telewizja Polska on Wednesday. This has meant a change in all news programs that function as government propaganda in recent years.

Sygut previously worked at TVP – until December 2015. He was the head of the Television Information Agency, and previously the head of TVP Info, at TVP Polonia he was TVP program secretary. Most recently, he sat on the management board of Miejskie Zakłady Autobusowe in Warsaw and was responsible for marketing.

Maciej Świrski, chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, criticized TVP’s management changes. “As Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, I declare that the dismissal of the Management and Supervisory Board of public media by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage is a serious violation of the law. Turning off television signals and the TVPInfo site is against the law. an act of lawlessness and reminiscent of the worst days of martial law,” he wrote in a statement.

Who is Marek Czyż?

Marek Czyż started his journalistic career at TOP Radio in Katowice. In 1996-2008 he ran a journalistic program on Polish Television. He also worked in TAI’s foreign editorial office and as a Silesian reporter for TVP.

In 2009–2011 he was program director of TVS, where he also ran “Silesia Information”. Since 2011 working at TVP Info. In 2016, he returned to TVP3 Katowice. He left Telewizja Polska in August 2016.

Later he was associated with Nowa TV, and then Superstacja, where he acted as a news and journalism host. In 2020-2021, he collaborated with Halo.Radio as a columnist. In 2020, he founded the journalistic website CzyzTak.pl.

In December 2022, he became chief information officer at Radio Zet. He just left the station.
