Four buildings will form the Olympic village for the Youth Games in Lillehammer. After that, the students took over and got a new student village.
Now a very special house production is underway in Moelv. And this creates many local jobs.
– We will have around 100 people working on this project, most of them from Hedmark and Oppland. In addition, there are also more concrete suppliers and deliveries, said project manager Petter Syverud.
Windows is good here and there
In Norway, such large wall elements have never been made of wood before. It is 12 meters high and less than four meters wide.
The walls are made according to the requirements of a so-called passive house, which means they are quite thick. The windows on the facade are of various sizes and appear to be scattered randomly on the walls of the house.
– What we do now on our premises will also be interesting in terms of making house building more efficient in the future. That means it could help make certain types of homes cheaper, project manager Syverud said.
The outer covering also looks random with different widths. The Lillehammer city government is worried that this will not look like factory production and modules.
Local jobs
Production of the Olympic village and student dormitories, which is currently underway, is taking place in Moelv.
Veidekke locally holds the overall contract. The ringsaker roof elements form the walls. Nordan makes windows.
Plumbing work was carried out at Ringsaker. The jigs on which the wall elements are built are made in Ringsaker, as is the frame on which the walls rest when the elements are lifted into place.
Running the Lillehammer wall
The first wall elements will be transported to Lillehammer and installed at the end of April. The first building should be completed with wall elements up to 17l. Possible.
There will be a total of four houses/blocks.
