US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Sunday.

The world’s largest aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford is now headed for the eastern Mediterranean, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said. The warship was in the Adriatic Sea on Sunday.

US President Joe Biden spoke on the same day as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They also spoke together on Saturday.

Biden said that additional military aid was being sent to Israel, which on Saturday was attacked on several fronts by the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip.

More aid will come in the next few days, Biden promised.

USS Gerald Ford is the aircraft carrier that docked in Oslofjord this spring.

The death toll continues to rise on both sides. Here’s the status on Sunday night:

  • At least 700 people were killed in Israel after Hamas attacks on Saturday. More than 2,000 people were injured.
  • Apart from that, many disappeared after the attack, including young people who were participants in a music festival in the desert.
  • Israel responded with a series of attacks on the Gaza Strip. So far, at least 413 people have been killed and 2,300 injured as a result of Israeli attacks.
