Kick-off for Toppserien: – Everything goes faster here than in Sweden
On Tuesday, Toppserien invites kick-off at Ullevaal Panorama. Each club drops its own coach, captain and additional profiles. Everyone is looking forward to the start of the season on March 25.
Topfotball women’s general manager, Hege Jørgensen, has a positive view of the development of women’s football in Norway:
– We are well on our way past Sweden in terms of finances and support equipment. It’s much quicker here than in Sweden, who have become big brothers for us on the club side. So we see it’s possible.
NRK and TV 2 will share media coverage of Toppserien matches and will work together to spread interest in Toppserien.
– We want Norwegians to know you, says Christina Paulos Syvertsen from TV 2.
At NRK, there will be a fixed main on Saturday at 16.45 with the next magazine at 18.30.
Last year’s series champion Brann is one of the big favorites for another win this year. NRK football pundit Carl-Erik Torp predicts Vålerenga and Rosenborg as the biggest contenders for the league title.
The much-criticized play-off system from last season has been scrapped in favor of a three-draw round, in which all teams meet three times during the season.
On Saturday 25 March, the first Toppserie match of the season will be played.
