Back again after almost 20 years
Earlier this fall, Norway’s SPAN confirmed a long-awaited reunion that resulted in two sold-out club concerts in Oslo.
Today the band confirmed they are also expanding with summer festivals and are set for Tons of Rock, where they share shows with legends like Metallica, Judas Priest and Greta Van Fleet.
– “Metallica and Tool were important to each of us in our formative years. It’s crazy that they still remain relevant and are now one of the biggest bands in the world. The last time we shared a festival poster with Metallica was in 2004. Then Lars Ulrich was hospitalized, and the band performed with Joey Jordison and Dave Lombardo on drums. Excited about what they have coming up this year? It’s great to be playing the same festival as our old heroes and in our own hometown. And when we first next time we have a reunion, 20 years later, it’s cool that we’re still the youngest! We’re bringing Roll to Ton Of Rock!” said SPAN on the occasion of Ton of Rock.
Tons of Rock is celebrating its 10th year and on occasion has been truly successful in terms of artists until 2024.
-When we first celebrated our anniversary, it was a great honor to dig into the Norwegian rock history books a little too. For a comeback with SPAN in Ekeberg on Friday 28 June 2024, many will appreciate, says Jarle Kvåle, Tons of Rock.
