On Thursday December 1, 2022, a conference was held to commemorate 70 years of cleaning ministry. The main purpose of the gathering of several dozen experts is not only to discuss professional topics, but also to express gratitude, recognition and respect to the former chief sanitary specialists and senior sanitation officers for their contributions to protecting public health. Conference held in Nové Jičín under the auspices of the Minister of Health Vlastimil Válk, Head of Hygiene of the Czech Republic Pavla Svrčinová and Director of the Regional Branch of the World Health Organization Srđan Matić.

The Hippocratic-Galenic concept of health became the motto of this social event: “Prevention is treatment”. The basis of prevention is the idea that by taking an active approach to minimizing risk, it will be possible to reduce the occurrence of disease, and this is also the main idea of ​​protecting public health – the message of the work of health experts. Therefore, the conference carried a message of gratitude to the workers who have dedicated their lives to the cleaning service, but also to the workers of the regional cleaning stations for their hard and long-term work.

The award for contribution to the protection of public health is presented by the Minister of Health and the Head of Hygiene of the Czech Republic. “In 70 years, the cleaning service in the Czech Republic has grown a lot, and on the occasion of this important anniversary, I would like to thank the workers from the bottom of my heart and wish them all the best in these years. come.” said Health Minister Vlastimil Válek. A Slovak delegation led by the chief sanitary expert of the Slovak Republic visited the conference and presented the current position of cleaning services in Slovakia.

The date of the conference itself falls on World AIDS Day. A significant block is also devoted to this issue, of which RNDr. Vratislav Němeček, CSc., MUDr. Anna Kubatová, PhD., M.Sc. Adriana Mečochová and MUDr. Hana Zákoucká.

As part of the second program block, experts address the topic of asbestos. Among others RNDr. Karin Fejdová, MD Michael Vit, Ph.D., MD Vladimíra Lipšová, MUDr. Gacka Slavíková and MUDr. Helena Kazmarova.
