Switzerland national team captain Granit The Group I leaders led twice in the match, but in the fourth minute of regulation, forward Vedat Muriqi stole two points from them with his second goal of the game.

“We played as we have looked all week. We didn’t train as needed. There was no speed, no intensity. Today looked like a friendly match, or like a football match in the park. It wasn’t like that.” Xhaka said according to the Blick newspaper.

“You can’t go from zero to 100 in a game if you don’t do much for a whole week. After kick-off, the rhythm of the game is completely different, there’s no footballer in the world who can do that.” said the 30-year-old Leverkusen midfielder, whom he moved in the summer after years spent at Arsenal.

Coach Murat Yakin disagreed with his words and said he would speak to Xhaka. “We trained as usual, everything was under control. Of course we didn’t do everything we planned. But the opponent is always there. We can’t expect to just get away from this group.” Yakin said.

His team drew for the second time in a row after the first three wins. They lead the group by two points ahead of Romania. Kosovo, ranked 109th in the world, is yet to win in a Euro 2024 Qualifier. He has four points for a draw and is second to last in the table.
