Halloween is slowly approaching. If you're a fan, you might be interested in how people celebrate it in different states.

  • Alabama. In Alabama, local residents hold events every weekend in October to honor those who died at Desoto Cave. This is a private park that has the first recorded cave in the US. At this event, you can watch fireworks and comedians in various disguises who will provide good entertainment for you.
  • Alaska. It's usually pretty cold in Alaska in October. This is one reason why people look forward to the warm Halloween train that leaves the depot at the end of October. Each year it starts in the city of Anchorage and ends the trip in Girdwood. The journey takes about two and a half hours. Every year, the train promises Halloween-related activities, especially for children.
  • Arkansas. In the state of Arkansas, local residents hold a Monster Ball in October. It's a car show. Any vehicle decorated in the Halloween spirit is welcome. You just need to register and you can walk with your Parish Pastor at this event. The show resembles the setting of the post-apocalyptic film Mad Max: Furious Ride.
  • Anaheim. Anaheim is home to Disneyland. Every year, the style is Halloween-themed. The entire amusement park is decorated with pumpkins and spooky objects in October. Even popular characters Mickey and Minnie are dressed to match their surroundings. The highlight of the fun is a special fireworks show called Halloween Screams.
  • Denver. In Denver, locals are having a great time. The one-day Zombie Crawl Festival is held there in October. Parties slowly started to take place all over the city. Many people walk around in scary costumes so they can win some kind of prize. They'll teach you dance steps to pop singer Michael Jackson's Thriller, and you'll find crazy stands with bold makeup that will make you look like a zombie.
  • Bristol. The Witch's Dungeon Classic Film Museum is open in Bristol, Connecticut every year from late September to late October. It is the longest running exhibition in the country. Held since 1966. This museum is filled from top to bottom with various human-sized monsters. You can find Frankenstein there, for example.
  • Atlanta. Georgia's capital city hosts an annual event held through Oakland Cemetery. It is the largest historic Jewish cemetery in the country. People wear themed costumes that don't get in the way of running. All you have to do is wrap yourself in toilet paper and you can run there too. The proceeds from this event are used to preserve this cemetery which was founded in 1850.
  • Boise. In the city of Boise, the community hosts the Idaho Horror Film Festival. Several dozen scary films are screened here every year. The event highlights emerging filmmakers and discovers new talent. This festival takes place every weekend in October.
  • Rochester Hills. In Rochester Hills, Michigan, the annual Pumpkin Festival is held. This event includes various activities such as pumpkin bowling or an outdoor scarecrow show. People bring carved pumpkins there. In the evening, candles are inserted into it and lit. On average there are about a thousand. Imagine how beautiful that would be.
