The blonde attacks Singapore. Repková is preparing for her fifth world championship

Martina Řepková, a strong supporter of the Czech national floorball team, is preparing for her fifth World Championship. Pupil Nové Strašecí will play the championship outside the European continent for the first time, in distant Singapore, and he is looking forward not only to the beautiful city, but especially the tournament itself, which, according to him, is the Czech Republic. has a great chance to finally end the wait for a medal.

“It’s been twelve years and it’s time to change that. I also want to wait, and I think we have the highest aim, recent results give us the right to do so,” said the beautiful 28-year-old blonde and Swiss Zug striker. What was she talking about before flying to Singapore?

About the fear of flying

It’s true, but it amuses me a little that there are more people like that on the team. That’s why I won’t stress too much, besides, I’ve flown a lot with my team in Switzerland in the last three months so I can handle it better. However, I still have respect, and if it is not necessary, I will not fly.”

About distant and beautiful Singapore

I’m really looking forward to the plane landing at the airport area! (laughs) But seriously, I’ve never been to the other side of the world, I’ve never seen a destination like this, it’s going to be amazing and I’m really looking forward to it. The climate shouldn’t be too bad for us, the hall is air-conditioned. I got the news that they take the championship there seriously, that they love floorball. I’m curious myself, and of course it would be good for the promotion of floorball if the championship was also held in that part of the world.

Team Goals…

I tend to be cautious when it comes to this, but the goal is the highest. I know that recently the decisive medal race for us has not ended as we imagined, but the results of the last period and the quality of the squad give us the right to believe that a turning point will come. So the goal is final!

The toughest opponent…

Maybe Finnish. They are very difficult to play against, they are very tactically prepared. However, in the championship, it could be a match for any top player in the world. Other teams are starting to get up and catch up to the best, but are still the most difficult in the matches against the TOP 4 teams.

Polka at the start of the championship

It’s true what I said, countries like Poland are rising. Their players play in Sweden, Switzerland, here. Two lines already have very good quality, on the other hand I think we still have more quality, even though in the last match we didn’t do well.

About getting close to Canada’s goal of 100 points on the national team

I didn’t think much about it, I didn’t even know about it until the last EFT tournament. It’s great to see the girls around me change and I’m still here. I’m happy that my health is good and that I can be here with the team.

Why don’t they try the Swedish league?

I was always encouraged to try the Swedish league, but I didn’t think it was right for me. Maybe one day I will make a decision. However, in terms of sports, work and personal life, Switzerland suits me better. Plus, I have friends from Switzerland, so that’s my home destination at the moment.

Why the Swiss address change?

I liked it in Chur, but I felt more ambitious in Zug. And I need ambition. Also a big sled, which I didn’t have much of in Chur last year. In addition, Czech players played in Zug (Ratajová, Šupáková and coach Martináková), which is always nice, although for me it is not so important that there are Czech players in the team. Although the language still gives me problems, Swiss German is terrible (laughs!). Anyway, this is the new “fresh” thing that I’m excited about.

About a friend and travel

Of course, we met in floorball, she played for the Malans Alligators. We lived in Chur, from where I traveled about an hour to Zug. I’m used to traveling from the Czech Republic, in fact I commute to Pilsen for two hours and then to Chodov for over an hour. Switzerland is fine in this regard, we traveled three hours at most. And the local players have tried hard and looked sour. They don’t seem to know the way from western Bohemia, for example to Třinec or Ostrava (laughs).

Where to go at Christmas?

The two cultures clash a bit at home, holidays, Christmas, and so on. I want to be with my family, my girlfriend too. But we found a compromise. Plus, my family tries to visit us once or twice a month, at least for a visit. That’s good because I really can’t go home now. Even though the birthday boy and I were in the Czech Republic, there were so many responsibilities that I couldn’t handle. For the first time this year, I didn’t even come home for Christmas. On the other hand, our families will come to meet us, my friends’ families too, I’m looking forward to it. Next year I have to go back to the Czech Republic, but more because of my grandparents. It’s also important to look at it.

Father Marek was a great football player for Kladno and Rakovník, what about his daughter?

Whatever sport I choose, I’m fine. But football really isn’t! I didn’t catch it there, and when dad saw me kick the ball, he just said: tragedy! At the same time, the whole family is based on football. Except me…
