The Norwegian Sport Confederation has apologized for the damage the whistleblowing case has caused to Norwegian sport

This can be seen from the council’s statement adopted at its meeting this week.

The sports council announced at the end of March that the notice case had been closed, but it has recently continued to receive attention. When the president of sport and the rest of the top management of the Norwegian Sports Confederation met with the press on Wednesday, it was again the topic of conversation.

In a statement adopted by the sports council, both those who were notified, those who were re-notified, and all of Norwegian sport accepted an apology.

“The Sports Council acknowledges that the complainant is within their full right to notify, cannot be criticized for the notification or treatment and emphasizes that the person concerned is a loyal and skilled employee,” it said.

Also after the previous board meeting, the complainant received an apology. This time it will also be notified again.

Exit towards Elsafadi

“The sports board acknowledged that the notice did not violate the rules of the Working Environment Act and stressed that the person was a loyal and skilled shop assistant.”

Furthermore, the management apologized for the burden that had been notified.

In the second statement, criticism was also directed at statements made against the president of the sport in the media recently.

Sports councilor Marco Elsafadi, who has been summoned in the case, among others, was harsh in describing Kjøll.

“The Sports Council believes that statements in the media with negative personal characteristics of the president of Sport and others are regrettable. These are not suitable for creating a constructive climate for cooperation and dealing with challenging issues,” the council wrote.

Kjøll spoke softly

When asked by NTB, Kjøll had the following to say about whether regret confirms that the process is too bad.

– As I said at the beginning after the case was closed, it received a lot of attention with a different focus. That’s why we brought it up for discussion on the board yesterday. We then hereby land a problem with these statements.

– I have nothing more to say than that, said Kjøll.

It was also announced on Wednesday that the fee for the much-discussed notification case ended at NOK 1.4 million excluding VAT.
