There is no agreement on the joint final statement from the G20 foreign ministers meeting – Dagsavisen

– On the issue of the Ukrainian conflict, there are big differences. There are differences which we cannot reconcile between the various parties, Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar told reporters after the meeting. India says the statement condemning Russia’s war is supported by all countries except Russia and China.

Thursday is the final day of the G20 foreign ministers meeting in New Delhi, India. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been the biggest issue on the agenda.

According to Reuters, the language in the statement after the meeting was in line with the declaration of war from last year’s G20 summit in Bali. At that time it was said that the G20 was not the right forum to deal with security issues, but it was pointed out that this could have a significant impact on the global economy.

– Peaceful resolution of conflicts, measures to deal with crises, as well as diplomacy and dialogue, are of utmost importance, the statement said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov blamed the West after the meeting.

– The statement is blocked. Our Western compatriots are really badly behaved. They don’t think about diplomacy anymore. They are now just blackmailing and threatening other people, he said.
