On Saturday night, one of the world’s largest yachts, “Al Lusail”, docked at Kristiansand. A mysterious visit to Norway to the emir in Qatar over the past 24 hours has attracted attention.

The group hoped that the 100-meter long cruise ship would not cause a commotion in the south of the archipelago.

– They thought there was too much exposure, port inspector Ole Limann told VG on Sunday afternoon.

– They were hoping to be a little more anonymous, that there wasn’t so much fuss about it. But police were the first to confirm it was the emir, Limann said.

It was to VG police confirmed that it was a state visit from Qatar.

Port inspector Ole Limann stated that the luxury yacht had left Norway as a result of the concern.

Police and local business

The combination of the police confirming the emir’s visit, and statements from local businesses should be the reason why they are now leaving Norway.

The group that arrived at Kjevik airport on Saturday evening, boarded the cruise ship in the evening. The police confirmed that it was a visit from a head of state as they had to be present with uniformed policemen according to normal procedures both at the airport and at the pier where the cruise ship docked.

– They weren’t so happy that the police came out and confirmed that it was them. They’re also not happy that the business community has stated that they’ve ordered yours and their daughter’s and then they’re gone, you know, the port inspector said.

Jesper Mathisen, known as a sports commentator on TV 2, came out and confirmed that the emir’s entourage would be playing rowing tennis while he was in Norway. Apart from being a football expert, he has started a rowing chain in Norway along with several others.

– We were called by his crew half an hour ago, wrote Mathisen Twitter.

In addition, it was discovered that a local fishmonger had been assigned to serve food to the crew on board the cruise ship.

Will not comment

Agder Police Operations Manager, Ronny Aateigen Andersen, did not want to comment on the criticism of VG.

– It is not natural for the police to comment on anything from a third party. “If there is something in the communication that some find reprehensible, I think the parties should take it up among themselves,” he said.

Police have yet to respond to the judgment behind going out with the emir’s visit.

Short notice

It was the first other cruise ship to make waves in Norway. The cruise ship «Big Beaver» rumbled past the pier in the narrow strait of Søgne. It created a strong reaction. On Saturday, the cruise ship left Norway and crossed Kattegat to Denmark. It is not known who owns the ship.

The port inspector received short notice before the emir arrived. They even demanded to know who the owner was.

– Do you tend to have busy weekends like this?

– No, not at all. They announced yesterday that they were coming. We found out who the boat was after we demanded to know who owned it. We didn’t receive any information until before they arrived by plane, Limann said.
