A giant aquarium exploded in the hotel reception

The cylindrical aquarium called the AquaDom is a jewel in the reception area of the Radisson Blu hotel in the German capital. A transparent glass elevator takes guests up through the aquarium.

Two people were injured by shrapnel when glass shattered. It’s not clear what happened. Part of the actual skeleton of the cylindrical aquarium remains, but the glass is missing and all the water and fish are iridescent as a result.

More than a hundred rescue workers were sent to the hotel with the world’s largest free-standing cylindrical aquarium.

Police in Berlin asked people and cars to stay away from the area, and the Karl-Liebknecht road was partially closed due to the “extreme” amount of water on the road, police wrote on Twitter.
