“An expression of Polish pride.” Jarosław Kaczyński about the Museum of Polish History – News

– This is already a museum of Polish glory – said on Sunday the deputy prime minister and president of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński, about the newly opened Museum of Polish History. Comparing PiS’s actions with those of its predecessor, he assessed: “on the one hand, building Polish pride, on the other, national micromania.”

At the party’s convention on Sunday in Katowice, the PiS leader referred, among other things, to the opening of the Museum of Polish History in the Warsaw Citadel on Thursday.

As Kaczyński recalls, during the first PiS government in 2005-2007, it was decided to build this museum, which “opened a few days ago – after 17 years”. – But the decision was taken before our rules ended and the PO-PSL rules began – he said. He added that in this case “a period of complete stagnation followed.” “Only when we return to power will we do this difficult but successful work,” he explained.

Museum of Polish Glory

Kaczyński stressed that the new museum “will be a museum of Polish history, but at the same time also the values that we represent.” – This is already a museum of Polish glory – said the PiS president.

– And what museums are built quickly to earn a lot of money? Second World War Museum. This museum is called Tusk’s gift to Merkel. A museum where Poland’s role in World War II is minimized as much as possible and where the elements that led to the loss of responsibility for starting this war are exposed – said Kaczyński.

Lowered Poland’s efforts in World War II

According to Kaczyński, the museum “devalues Polish efforts during World War II in its exhibits.” – It could be said that the museum was and, unfortunately, still is – although there were very extensive changes, but these changes could not be implemented completely – part of Germany’s historical policy – said the PiS president.

– This comparison is the best here. On the one hand, building Polish self-confidence, building Polish pride. On the other hand, the Polish construction of shame, national micromania, is how it can be explained – concluded Kaczyński.
