An inconspicuous way to the stars. Nosková won her fifth women’s title

Two of the three youngest tennis players in the world’s top 200 are from the Czech Republic. Apart from Linda Fruhvirtová, Linda Nosková has also taken a less flashy but no less promising route to the adult peak. The confident tennis player won her fifth women’s title at the weekend in France. At only seventeen years old.

Talented American Coco Gauff celebrated her eighteenth birthday three weeks ago, so there are only three tennis players under the age of eighteen in the WTA top 200 rankings. Two of them have Czech flags next to their names.

At the same time, Linda Fruhvirtová and Linda Nosková stepped onto the top of the wider world.

While 16-year-old Fruhvirtová used a wild card last week and shone among the best tennis players in Miami America, Nosková, less than a year older – last year’s French Open junior champion – still contests the smaller tournaments of the ITF organization and reliably building an impressive gradual comeback among the stiff competition there.

Over the weekend, Nosková dominated the indoor event in Croissy-Beaubourg, France, from the underdog, and for the second time in her career won the $60,000 subsidized tournament. He already has five titles to his credit.

In the new edition of the WTA rankings, like Fruhvirtová, she has climbed into the top 200 for the first time in her career. We now find Nosková in 184th place, Fruhvirtová four places lower.

The third minor in the top 200 is the youngest of them, 16-year-old sensation from Andorra Victoria Jimenezová Kasincevá in 177th place. By the way, Nosková knocked her out in Paris when she ran into last year’s junior grand slam.

The player, who in recent years trained in Přerov under the leadership of renowned coach Tomáš Krupa, who in the past coached the biggest Czech stars such as Tomáš Berdych, Karolína Plíšková and Barbora Strýcová, stands out for his confidence, but also for his thoughtful approach.

“I’m sure that the coach criticizes me for things he doesn’t need to say to mature players. I always try to implement them as soon as possible so he doesn’t have to repeat them to me. We both have the same vision for me to be in the best tennis in the world as soon as possible,” he said a year ago in an interview for Aktuálně.cz.

At the time, she boldly compared herself to American legend Serena Williams.

“That sounds presumptuous, but I would compare myself to him. He is my biggest role model and I want to play like him. Have such technique and hitting power. And of course, results.”

He declared that his goal was the highest. “I want to be in the top ten in the world. But I don’t really care about how fast I get there, I’m more focused on how long I can stay there and how good my game will be.” ,” he said at the time.

In the current season, Nosková could see her premiere in an adult Grand Slam tournament.

If the ratings weren’t enough, there was speculation that he could receive a wildcard to Roland Garros in Paris as junior champion.
