Bets agreed: Nagelsmann’s favorite at Chelsea

Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) is the favorite of bookmakers and journalists to become Chelsea’s new coach.

On Sunday night it was the end of the race for Potter after less than seven months at the London club.

Bookmakers agreed with Romano and aligned that the former Bayern Munich manager would take over at Chelsea. However, if there were anyone else, they believe that Brendan Rodgers, who was also sacked from his Leicester job on Sunday, and Mauricio Pochettino are the hottest candidates.

Last week, it became clear that Nagelsmann was finished with Bayern Munich, despite winning all their games in the Champions League and finishing second in the Bundesliga. Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel – sacked on September 7 last year – has taken over at Bayern.

Leipzig received almost NOK 300 million to let go of Nagelsmann in 2021. That is still a world record for a football coach’s transfer fee.

Potter, on the other hand, has won just four of his 19 league games with Chelsea, which is arguably a dismal result after spending the most money in European football on player acquisitions over the last nine months. With ten games remaining, Chelsea slumped in 11th position.
